Halleluyah…the glory is here…can somebody somewhere say Amen…lol. Kenya finished in style in the Olympics with 5 golds, 5 silvers and 4 bronze medals to finish 4th in the Athletic medal standings and 15th in the Overall medal standing.
And to cap it all we won the marathon race on the closing day. Our very own Sammy Wanjiru went on to win the marathon race and set an Olympic record…What a kool way to finish the Olympics.
It’s turning out to be the best Olympics ever for the Kenyan team especially from the ladies, Nancy Jebet Langat won the 1500m race finals in a storming finish and to cap it all, Wilfred Bungei thereafter won the 800m race finals. It’s just fantastic, I was getting worried of the Ethiopians who seem to finish the Olympics ahead of us. But too bad, we now have 4 golds in total and no.4 on the athletic table . Expect another gold in the marathon race tomorrow.
A Search Engine hacker has unearthed evidence that show the Chinese gymnasts team were underage. In his blog http://strydehax.blogspot.com, Stryde Hax shows traces of the official registration documents in the translation cache of Chinese search engine Baidu. The files show one of the competitor, He Kexin, was only 14 . These files had been deleted by the Chinese authorities.
What amazes me,is the way IOC is handling this whole issue. The IOC spokeswoman, Giselle Davies says
“what have been a number of questions and apparent discrepancies, However, all the information the Chinese gymnastics federation presented supports its insistence that its athletes were old enough to compete. We believe the matter will be put to rest and there’s no question … on the eligibility,”
She further continues and say….
“The information we have received seems satisfactory in terms of the correct documentation — including birth certificates.”
What/which evidence is IOC waiting for? Am not hating on Chinese people but the truth better be told.
Bolt won 200m gold in a record time of 19.30 seconds yesterday. 8 races, 6 days , 2 races , 2 Olympic golds, 2 World records…this guy is untouchable and raining in the track fields.
USAIN Bolt has done it again, smashing the 200m world record early today in a dramatic 200m final that saw the second and third-placed runners disqualified.
The amazing Jamaican, 22 today, clocked 19.30sec to slice 0.02sec off the great Michael Johnson’s world mark that had stood since the 1996 Atlanta Games.
In one of the most extraordinary performances in Olympic history, Bolt went hard from the gun in an all-out attempt to get what had been considered one of the most untouchable records.
Jelimo has drop it like it’z hot to beat Janeth and Mozambique Express Mutola in 800m race. Jelimo won gold in 800m, the first one ever to be won by a Kenyan woman athlete. Hip hurray!! Hip hurray!!
Teenage sensation Pamela Jelimo became the first Kenyan woman to win an Olympic track and field gold here on Monday when she claimed the 800 metres in a world junior record of 1minute 54.87seconds.
The 18-year-old beat home compatriot and world outdoor champion Janeth Jepkosgei (1:56.07) while 2004 Olympic silver medallist Hasna Benhassi of Morocco was third (1:56.73).
Mozambique’s Maria Mutola finished fifth in her fifth Olympic final and the 33-year-old’s sixth and final Olympics.
Wow! wow! Usain Bolt smashed 100m sprint record on Saturday and crossed the line in 9.69seconds!!!. It was breathtaking but Bolt could have gave it all, he relaxed toward the end. He had a chance to clock at least 9.65 but he gave up too early and started raising his arms in triumph well before he crossed the line. I hope he won’t live and regret his carelessness on that Saturday night. Congrats to Bolt though.
He he he the little man from Ethiopia showed Kenyan dust as he went to win the 10,000m race. I don’t know if it was juju or marijuana but Bekele seem to press some hidden gear somewhere and sprinted like hell on the last corner of the final lap. Kenyan athletes had good tactics in mind but wololo!! at the end ,phew the tactics didn’t work. We had to settle for bronze. Continue to read >>>
I felt like jumping jumping up and down as our very own Jason Dunford set a new Olympic record in the men’s 100-meter butterfly heat during the swimming competitions yesterday. He swam 51.14 seconds to break American Michael Phelps’ old mark of 51.25 that he set at the Athens Games four years ago. For a moment, tribe, skin color was not an issue. Only one thing came to mind….KENYA.
Jason may not win a medal as Phelps the torpedo and Ukrainian Andril Serdinov are on his nake (they shattered Jason record in their heats after just 7 minutes) but he has done Kenya and Africa as a whole proud.
I never thought they will pull this off with regards to the bad publicity that China has been receiving since it won the bid to host 2008 Olympic Games. Kudos to Chinese people, the opening ceremony was spectacular and off the hook.
And it was really kool watching our formidable Kenyan Olympic team parading in that pompous ceremony. Go go go Kenya!! Let’s show the Ethiopians,Moroccans and the whole world what we are made of! We are simply the best!!
