Next time you meet a cop on the street and he asks for a bribe, don’t be amazed when he says “Nisambazie kwa M-Pesa yangu” . Crooked cops have gone hi-tech in search of bribes and instead of using the usual tactics of receiving bribes, they have embraced Safaricom M-Pesa and Zain Sokotele technology. No wonder nowadays you find a traffic policeman with a walkie-talkie on one hand and two/three mobile phones on the other hand.

“Recently, the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission found out such cases may have reduced, but warned that the level of corruption by traffic police officers remained high, thanks to advances in technology.
Detectives at the commission unearthed a new method by which corrupt officers receive bribes via mobile phone-based technology, like M-Pesa and Sokotele.“

I felt like jumping jumping up and down as our very own Jason Dunford set a new Olympic record in the men’s 100-meter butterfly heat during the swimming competitions yesterday. He swam 51.14 seconds to break American Michael Phelps’ old mark of 51.25 that he set at the Athens Games four years ago. For a moment, tribe, skin color was not an issue. Only one thing came to mind….KENYA.
Jason may not win a medal as Phelps the torpedo and Ukrainian Andril Serdinov are on his nake (they shattered Jason record in their heats after just 7 minutes) but he has done Kenya and Africa as a whole proud.
Go go Jason…am tired of seeing Phelps face…lol.
